Pakistan WAPDA with 71 points won the 1st National Women’s Road Cycling Championship in Kasur on Sunday. Pakistan Army were the runners-up with 66 Points while Punjab scored third position with 25 points. Six teams from all over the country took part in this national championship. The chief guest at the opening ceremony was Punjab Cycling Association (PCA) president Chaudhary Kamran Amin while District Coordination Officer (Kasur) Malik Jahnazeb Awan was the guest of honour at the prize distribution ceremony.
In the 10km individual road time trial, Sabiha Nisar of Pakistan Army bagged first position, WAPDA’s Rahila Bano was runner-up and Asima of Punjab got third position. In the 20km team road time trial, WAPDA won gold, Army bagged silver and Punjab grabbed bronze medal. In the 20km road race, Sabiha Nisar of Army was gold medal winner, Rahila Bano was runner-up while Rajiha of Army earned third position.
